Plans
Planning is one of the fundamental functions of any software development effort. It provides the basis for other activities, such as tracking and controlling. The actions incurred in this process results in numerous documents. W. L. Reid & associates provide project management plans, risk management plans, configuration management plans, software test plans and the quality assurance plans. Poorly written technical plans fail to identify the needed actions and does not provide sufficient resources for successful software development efforts. This usually lead to a lack of confidence in the planners, missed deadlines and unsatisfactory output due to desperate shortcuts. If the plans are not updated with changes, they will become obsolete and useless which leads to a process that is unmanageable. If the plans are too abstract, they will not be followed. We produce realistic plans that are quickly followed and provide sufficient guidance.
W. L. Reid & Associates tailor each plan to fit its particular use. Our plans describe the goals, strategies, objectives, activities to perform that achieve the specified objectives and an assessment of the resources that the planned activities will consume. We interface with team members to identify the goals and objectives then provide the contents such as the work breakdown structure, resource and schedule estimates, risks, progress measures, relationships, and traceability to other plans. All documentation adhere to industry standards.
