Software Project Management Plans
While the overall goal of a project management plan is to establish a practical strategy for managing a software project, it has to be written down in a concise manner that is understandable to its primary audience. We capture the goals and objectives then transform them into precise content keeping within the project scope. We provide project managers with the confidence that allows them to become proactive and observe the work performance instead of being victims of surprises. Our planning documentation specify the milestones to completion, with their starting and finishing dates, and the resources needed to meet the milestones. The milestones in the project plan are convertible to tasks, which are much easier to budget, and allocate to one or more people. A productive project plan provides the project manager the ability to see the completion of tasks before the next begins, which provide the visibility for projections to completion along with a cash flow profile which will show the stages of the projects where money is spent. Progress is monitored against each milestone and completion readily reported. W. L. Reid & Associates tailor each plan to fit its particular use. Our plans describe the goals, strategies, objectives, a set of activities to perform that achieves the specified objectives and an assessment of the resources that the planned activities will consume. We interface with the team members to identify the goals and objectives then provide the contents such as the work breakdown structure, resource and schedule estimates, risks, progress measures, relationship , and traceability to other plans. All documentation adhere to industry standards.
